2024 was a good year for Monoposto. Six drivers were named champions as they bested their fellow class competitors in wheel-to-wheel racing from Canada through the US. The winners who will be receiving trophies are:
Formula Ford Jacques Dresang
Club Ford Charles Smith
Formula B Tonis Kasemets
Formula 5000 Jim Stengel
Formula Super Vee Tom Pixley
Indy Lights Travis Engen
Please join me in congratulating each of them.
Following the successes of 2024, the schedule for the year ahead is modeled on the 2024 plan with the addition of a return to Barber Motorsports Park in October. The details are on www.Monoposto.com and below:
HSR Road Atlanta April 24 to 27 All classes
SVRA Road America May 15 to 18 All classes
VARAC Vintage Grand Prix June 12 to 15 All classes except Indy Lights
SVRA Indianapolis June 12 to 15 All classes
Road America July 17 to 20 All classes
VSCDA Grattan August 15 to 17 All classes except Indy Lights
SVRA Watkins Glen September 4 to 7 All classes
VSCDA Road America September 12 to 14 All classes
SVRA Barber October 17 to 19 All classes
SVRA COTA October 30 to November 2 All classes
Since two of the events are on the same weekend (I wish SVRA and VARAC would sort this out!) competitors in all classes except Indy Lights have 9 events to choose from and Lights drivers have 8. Remember that it’s your ten best race results (typically 5 events) that are scored and you need to participate in 3 events to make the minimum for a championship and trophy.
The first event is three months away so if you haven’t prepped your car it’s time to get started. I wish everyone the best in 2025 and look forward to seeing you at the track.
Travis Engen
President, Monoposto
